It has now been more than 10 years since the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act with its 2013 Shelby v. Holder decision. And according to a new analysis by the Brennan Center for Justice, since that time Republican state legislatures around the country have passed a total of 94 laws to make it harder for some people to vote. Even worse, at least 29 of those laws likely would have been blocked if Republicans had tried to pass them before the Voting Rights Act was weakened.
